Hi

My name is Katie Chauvel and I do line drawings of friends and strangers using ink and a brush. I superimpose the line drawings onto photographs of my life, old movie stills or other artists' work to create something obscure.

​

It's unexpected to find somebody enjoying a meal of grapes on toast. The two quite ordinary components make a rather unusual combination. The name "Grapes on Toast" was a random choice I made 7 years ago, however, it is how I have come to design these collages. A character or a photograph may appear ordinary on its own, but when the two are merged the scenario becomes strange.
